Selectively Bred Phases / Locality
(non-genetic)
Miami Phase - This term was used to describe the look of corns
found in that area. The ground color can be tan to gray and the saddles
are red.

Okeetee Phase - This term can be confusing because it refers to
both Locality corns and corns with a stereotypical look (look-eetee).
These corns are bred to have a bright orange ground color with bright
red saddles, that are seperated by black borders.
Abbotts Okeetees
are selectively bred snakes with very black border.

Okeetees
Will have bright solid colors with no speckling or "holes".
Locality Okeetees include Hunt Club, Jasper County, SC.

Milk Snake Phase (Banded) - These snakes have been
selectively bred to have wide saddles that connect to the side
blotches to show a banded look. The saddles reach across a snake's
back from belly to belly. This pattern often requires the motley gene.

Reverse (Albino) Okeetee Phase -  A selectively bred form of
Amel. In this form, it is desired to have thick white borders around the
red saddles. The thicker the better. Think of an Abbotts Okeetee in the
Amel form.

Upper Keys (Keys corn, Rosy ratsnake) - These have a
similar appearance to hypo corns. The belly checker is not as strong or
even absent. The ground color is tan, with less contrast between
ground and saddle colors. The black borders are less prominent or
completely absent.
Upper Keys - Serpenco
Candycane - A second selectively bred form of Amel. These come in
two colors; orange or red. These snakes are bred to have high white
background color with either bright red or orange saddles, making them
resemble a candycane.
Candy Cane Corn - Ians Vivarium
Sunglow - Another form of selectively bred Amel corn. The
requirement for this title is the reduced amount or lack of white. The
less white, the more desired.

Vanishing Pattern - This is self descriptive. These snakes have a
pattern that disappears as it goes down the snake. Some are virtually
patternless.

Aztec - Although this phase has not proven to be genetic, specimens
with more extreme patterns seem to have a higher percentage of
offspring with aztec patterning. Aztec can be described as "extremely
asymmetrical, linear-oriented disruption of the dorsal pattern" (Kathy
Love). Little pieces of the pattern appear to have been thrown about.
Aztec Corns - Ians Vivarium
Zigzag (Zipper Corn) - The left and right side of the saddles have
become offset from each other.

Some snakes will show a mix of both Zigzag and Aztec to varying
degrees.

with the hypo gene thrown in. Take a nice looking miami and add hypo
and you get crimson
