2008 Egg laying, Clutch Pictures
More Pictures will be added as the season progresses
This is what it looks like when a Snake lays an Egg
First - an egg is pushed to the
Vent (Cloaca)
Once the egg is at the vent, the
snake begins to open her cloaca
With contractions (waves of Muscle
movements), the snake begins to push
the egg out of the cloaca
The egg is Very soft, moist and
flexible at this time which helps the
laying process
Finally, the egg is pushed completely out of the
cloaca, where it will become dry and
leather-like, but not as hard as a chicken egg.
